The Bothersome Man

After failing miserably to throw himself under a train, office drone and general misfit Andreas (Trond Fausa Aurvåg) wakes to find himself transported to a dusty, featureless plain where he is provided with an apparently perfect lifestyle in an idyllic city creepily similar to present day Oslo - but all is not as it initially appears. This elegant, surreal, darkly comic tale went on to win the Black Tulip award at Amsterdam for its director, who was hailed as a fusion of David Lynch and Jacques Tati.
