Curse of the Golden Flower

From Zhang Yimou, the director of Hero and House of Flying Daggers, comes the final film in his ‘wushu’ series – a trilogy dedicated to the fusion of mythic story-telling and martial arts action. This story takes place in tenth century China. Deception is afoot, and in the royal palace no less, as everyone inside has something to hide or someone to conspire against. Chow Yun-Fat and Gong Li as the Emperor and Empress both deliver incredibly vibrant performances that reflect the film’s glorious visuals and breath-taking action.
